Hey everyone! Wild week here, my hometown of Hamilton, OH got hit with some severe windstorms stemming presumably from repercussions of the recent Southern hurricanes. It got pretty chaotic. I’d wager it’s the most damage this town’s seen, possibly ever, resulting in easily one hundred downed trees, lots of property damage, and even a couple reported deaths. We were without power for several days; some are just now receiving it after nearly a week. Thus, this week’s episode of RTW TV: Weekly Round Up is slightly truncated. I didn’t have a lot of time to shoot new material, but we managed to put together a fun episode, I feel, so hope you’ll enjoy it and we’ll hopefully be back on track next week.

RTW TV: Weekly Round Up 9/20/08

All right, I hope all is well with everyone, feel free to drop a comment and let me know how you’re doing and what you’ve been up to and experiencing. I’m looking forward to tomorrow, first real day off (no school or work) in a long while. Be well!

thanks, greg! - finding time can be difficult.. but the good thing is i've got a lot of really neat and fun ideas for evolving the show as time passes so it's going to be continually improving.. - this month has just been hectic.. - but i want to start doing more location shooting, getting more people involved, etc. - so what i'm doing right now kind of feels like small beans.. - is that a phrase? - anway.. - thanks again and i look forward to some H-A TV soon..

Gummi sharks? FEH. Gummy worms for life, sir, followed shortly by gummi cola bottles.

At 600-ish calories, these are actually some of the "healthiest" loaded fries I've ever seen. Of course, most chain restaurants have loaded fry appetizers (meant to be shared), but they all clock in at 2000/2200 calories. Still, the guest reviewer is right. You can't eat these things with any regularity. This is the kind of thing that you plate only at Christmastime. I've never eaten at a Rally's, but for such a "low-cal" bacon-chee-fry deal, I might have to go hunting.

Superman Returns toys are still in all the close-out stores around here, years later. The latest Superman movie was hardly children's fare (2.5 hours of mostly non-action) and really a retro-superhero-movie throwback. As such, a children's toy line based on multicolored variations of Supes was destined to fail, or at least underperform. It's always boggled my mind that companies keep putting out weird variations of characters like Batman. I've heard the excuse that it "sells to kids," but when I was a kid, I was always pissed when I got a camouflage Batman with some cockamamie jetpack. I wanted the black suit with the yellow insignia, like the movies. It's more "real," which of course allowed for more real adventures.

Here ends my random post-video rant. I enjoyed it again this week, and am glad to see that you made it through the storm unscathed.
