The three-day weekend is nearing an end, but as it draws to a close, check out my latest, brand new article:

The Return of Pepsi Twist?
NFL Kickoff Limited Edition Flavor

In the article, I look back at one of my favorite, yet more obscure, cola offerings ever. Also, I give my review on its new, very similar brethren. So, be it a fan of cola, lemons, of just beverages in general, check it out!

Also, if you saw my last post, I made the huge announcement that starting this upcoming weekend, I’ll be producing and starring in a new, ongoing, weekly YouTube series titled Review the World TV: Weekly Round Up. Great news on that front, as over the last couple days, we’ve already shot a bunch of awesome content and began post-production on the first couple episodes. We’re going to be both recording and editing continuously throughout each and every week. I’m so excited about the show, it’s going to be a ton of fun, and am really looking forward to getting the ball rolling on this project and sharing the debut episode with everyone!

We’ll see you soon! RTW TV: Weekly Round Up starts next weekend, and, I’ll be working on a giant two-part article detailing my recent honeymoon trip to Walt Disney World that’ll be debuting on Review the World later this month. Be well!

All the novelty soda flavors appeared after I'd already abandoned soda.

I am particularly bitter that I never got to try Mountain Dew's various odd spin-offs.

that is a bummer, bro.. - over the course of the summer i tried several Mountain Dew spin-offs.. - took pictures intended for articles... - not sure if i'll ever get around to writing them, though.. - i have tons of folders full of pictures for pieces i've never got around to doing.. - speaking of MD, i also got ahold of a really cheap, generic pop titled Mountain Hollar and will probably do an article on it eventually if for nothing else its obvious cheesiness..

Having read the piece, I'm somewhat relieved; I was half-convinced that "Faygo!" was some trendy new catch-phrase I'd missed out on.

Ya know, what's troubling and magical about this thread is that I last drank that Moon Mist shite back in 1996; what would 1996 Me make of 2008 Me traveling back in time and informing him that twelve years hence, I'd be talking about that generic Dew crap on the internet with two people I'd never actually met?

Also, what's fascinating about the store-brand phenomenon (and it took me several years to notice this) is that it has done away with the once-ubiquitous Generic Aisle; now the knock-off cereals come in boxes (or, more often, in bags) adorned in bright, dizzying colors and featuring mascots every bit as deranged and manic as those found on boxes of such Saturday morning stalwarts as Lucky Charms and Sugar Honey Smacks.

Gone are the entire aisles stocked with all-white (or all-yellow) packages of foodstuffs.

...I consider it my greatest failing that I never drank a twelve-pack of Beer.

i love going to JJ's and picking up crazy foreign pops. most of which are stomach ache inducing super sweet crazy fruit flavours. love it.

i must say that i think england produces the best pops i've ever had though. it certainly seems like other countries have got such more exciting drinks than the US. though i must say, i want to try some of these http://www.nutrisoda.com/index.asp ...i dink too much pop, i'm addicted to that fizz

that reminds me.. i totally want to hit up Jungle Jim's to get some stuff for the new, weekly RTW TV project.. - i remember seeing these Jamacian sodas with a mascot of a cat with shades on.. - i've got to try some more of their International drinks..

speaking of euro sodas.. have you ever had Irn-Bru? - pronounced Iron Brew.. - when i went to Scotland, people drank it religiously.. - it's like an orange soda.. but with hints of other mysterious flavors.. - hard to explain but the family i stayed with loved the stuff..

as a penny pincher, i love generics! virtually everything in the grocery now is available without pay for the label! and in many cases i prefer the cheap-o stuff! but alas, there are certainly some things that are worth paying the extra for the real mccoy...the most evident of these items is mountain dew, the knock-offs really don't compare, except for meijer brand...they have captured the morning's essence quite well

ah, good old faygo.. - i spent many nights in the late '90's sampling its many offerings..

p.s. - you should have came to jake and sarah mustache party last weekend! - it was full of drunkenness and Latino-inspired good times.. - plus a really smashed Aaron showed me his new motorcycle..

I've been loving this lemon soda return! You're right about the cans--they don't exactly announce that it's lemon-flavored. It looks more like a special Pepsi promotion than a new flavor. Embrace the lemon, PepsiCo!

I'm looking forward to the weekly round-ups! Yesssss!

indeed.. they just as cola has embraced citrus, Pepsi needs to embrace and support their product..

i can't wait to get the ball rolling on the return of RTW TV.. - while i had fun shooting with the guys at Team Sandnut, I'll be the first to admit that it never captured the magic of the original RTW TV.. - but now, i'm back in my creative role and it feels great.. - the first episode is ready to upload and i'm real excited to share it with everyone.. - there's a ton of potential for the future of this project.. - needless to say, these next few months shall be fun!
